At The Hotel Academy, our Hospitality Operations Certificate programme is thoughtfully crafted to provide a balanced culinary education that integrates 30% theoretical knowledge with 70% practical application. This carefully structured approach ensures that students not only understand the essential theories behind culinary arts but also acquire the hands-on expertise necessary for thriving in actual kitchen settings.


To support our students throughout their learning journey, we offer a stipend during their employment phase at the hotel. This financial support is designed to offset transportation costs and other expenses, ensuring that students can focus on their professional growth and academic achievements without undue financial burden.

The Hotel Academy's National Certificates are accredited by The Culture, Art, Tourism, Hospitality, and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority (CATHSSETA).


We align ourselves with the stringent standards set by CATHSSETA to ensure our students receive education and training that is relevant, of high quality, and meets the needs of the industry.


Upon successful completion of the programme, including both the theoretical and practical components, students will receive the CATHSSETA certification as well as the overarching Hotel Academy Certification.



Educational Model



Central to our educational model is the Hospitality Immersion & Academic Mastery (HIAM) Programme. This innovative programme combines real-world experience with rigorous academic training. Students engage in employment within a hotel environment, gaining invaluable on-the-job experience, while also participating in monthly classes focused on both the theoretical and practical aspects of their culinary education.



Is this course suitable for me?



To qualify for enrolling in this programme, you must fulfill the following requirements:



  • A Matric Certificate (Grade 12) with Diploma Studies or equivalent is required.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
  • A basic understanding of mathematical concepts is essential.
  • Access to a reliable internet connection is necessary for accessing course materials, submitting assignments, and participating in virtual discussions
  • A genuine passion for the hospitality Industry is essential.
